Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a technique used to deposit thin films one atom (or molecule) at a time onto various surfaces (e.g., onto surgical instruments, oethopaedic implants, heart pacemakers and so on). The coating source is physical (ie. solid or liquid) rather than chemical. The whole idea of Physical Vapor Deposition is in its ability to make surfaces sterile. It modifies surface properties without changing the inside priperties of the material and therefore without changing its biochemical functions. Thus the Blackline material was produced, which is, due to its sterile and medical properties, perfectly suits for body jewelry. It is perfectly biologically compatible with human blood, skin and tissue. This is the main property to ensure the healing process of your piercing.
